It was a lovely evening dinner to celebrate a birthday. We were comfortably seated and well taken care of. The food was delicious and of high quality. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Will certainly visit for more of the same.

We arrived at 8 pm to eat on a Friday night, not having booked, but we were welcomed inside and quickly seated. It was busy but service was quick and thorough. The food was amazing. It was authentic and delicious. Lots of people enjoying the food. Lively atmosphere and very friendly.

So today I visited this restaurant around 8:30, these 2 Chinese ladies one short wearing glasses and one without , they are waiters who were so miserable and did not speak a word of English. Not to seem horrible but it would be nice from them to speak English around customers and also to act jolly and happy. It’s not nice entering a restaurant with moody staff. Will not visit again, please fix your staff. Lovely restaurant but staff horrific

The Chinese restaurant Mandarin Palace in Hornchurch is top rated and tick all boxes !
We as a family going at least once a month for over 5 years there and always had a warm welcome and good food
The restaurant which is located inside the old building gives you a feel of being in 17th century.
The personnel is very polite and professional and we as a customers will recommend this place for every family who’s looking for a cool and private Chinese food place ☝

It’s been quite a few years now since our last visit but last night we finally went back to the Mandarin Palace in my hometown of Hornchurch. I can honestly say that we won’t be leaving it very long before we return again. We enjoyed great Chinese food along with excellent friendly service from every member of the team. We also loved a couple of old school touches that reminded you of years gone by.

Let’s begin with our arrival which really set the tone for the evening. It was as friendly as you could ever want before being escorted to our table. Once seated we were immediately brought a large helping of prawn crackers. We then ordered a pint of carlsberg (80s) and a glass of rose wine while we looked at the extensive menu.

We decided that despite the appeal of the set menu’s we would order of the main menu to which the waitress was very helpful and said what order the food could be brought to the table. It sounded great so we left it with them. We started with the Gourmet Platter of...
