Rating:3 Great location. The two middle aged waitresses were lovely. Food was great, despite having to send the garlic cheesy bread starter back as it was lukewarm and minimal garlic.

Rating:5 Family day out, and our first time at Miller and Carter chigwell which we thoroughly enjoyed. Came in on the early evening on a Sunny Tuesday which wasn’t so busy. Atmosphere was splendid and very welcoming and we all enjoyed our steak meal. Next time I’ll remember to have mine medium rather than well-done, but my 7oz steak tasted great nonetheless. The nachos and calamari starters were amazing.

Rating:3 The food was great, the service was also decent, my issue was with the seating. They sat us in the corner by the toilets/kitchen. We was clearly baking hot as me and my partner was fan’ing ourselves constantly. You would think that was a big enough hint to maybe open a door or move us from the baking hot kitchen. But no unfortunately we sat and ate our food in the baking heat dropping with sweat. Really uncomfortable

However, not being the cheapest place, you make this place an occasional treat. Unfortunately the whole experience was marred by a toddler having an ongoing tantrum a few tables up. When will these establishments take the initiative and not allow younger children?
I’ve enjoyed more chilled dining experiences in a McDonald’s carpark, with a big mac and an Essex girl.

There’s lots of seating areas both inside and outside, and we especially loved our window area overlooking the main road and the Hainult forest.
The lady staff who served us was all smiles and very friendly too.
Will definitely come again, only need to budget for more especially when you have kids
